I was on TV....

...well, kind of . Telus TV does a segment called "my calgary", and they were doing something on upcoming bridal trends for 2010. So they called me. Naturally!! haha, just kidding, I was SO SHOCKED that they called me, that I just said yes without really thinking about what I was getting into....which was an interview...on TV....in my store....with my dresses....and of course, a model!! So I called up Becka, we went and had our makeup done, and then made our television debuts!! So exciting, but kind of awkward to be honest. I am not cut out for TV, I feel a little silly posting this video but after many requests I shall do it. Just don't make fun of my weird facial expressions (what was I doing??!!) and my nervous voice....I hope it came across more like I totally know what I'm talking about and less like an eyelash batting weirdo! Haha!!

Funny thing...

I have decided to just un-privatize my blog. Yep, I know, lame-o for being indecisive, but whatevs, I know how annoying it is to have to sign in to read my blog, and it's not THAT interesting, so I would love for more COMMENTS... and now you can leave one anytime without the inconvenience of the sign-in!! SO MAD

I am so freaking upset right now. I don't even know what to do. I have been working my BUTT off to lose the baby weight, without much success due to various extranuous factors in my life. But right before Christmas I finally felt GREAT (thanks Becka!), I fit my skinny jeans, without TOO much of a muffin top.
THEN my doctor put me on CLOMID....without telling me that a side effect is weight gain!! I looked it up on the internet, and apparently you can expect a 5-7 pound weight gain PER CYCLE...I just finished my second cycle, so do the math!!!! I am so mad at him, he is the worst doctor ever and seriously just prescribed me these pills because he thought I was being too whiny. (ok I don't know, but I am going to make irrational conclusions because I CAN!!)
For those of you who don't know, I CANNOT get pregnant. I've been trying since last summer. Clomid is a fertility drug. So please don't ask me when I'm expecting again, because I will probably cry because I AM SICK OF WAITING AND GETTING FAT WHILE DOING SO!!! Seriously, I could not fit into any of my jeans today. I am not even exaggerating. I worked out this morning, but now I am hopping back on that stupid treadmill and I am going to RUN MY BUTT OFF (again.). Thanks for reading the rant.

Robbed....

Ok seriously, I know I was supposed to post about our cruise but....guess what happened?!! Some stupid punk kids broke into Beautiful Bride last week!!! How rude!! They didn't touch the dresses (thank goodness!) but they broke my front door which is super expensive to fix because it's special glass. And they left kind of a mess. I feel so violated, needless to say I now have a security system installed. All they took was cash, so not the end of the world as it was under $1000. But still, I can't believe someone would break into a bridal store!!! Sooooooo mad, still!! And my insurance company SUCKS because NOBODY will call me back or give me a straight answer! What is with these people? I'm super frustrated and not having a good day!!! I sure hope it was worth it, dumb kids. The CSI guy came and dusted for fingerprints (there were none) and we found a footprint (of an adidas runner....hmmmm...) but that's it. I have never been robbed before, it's such an invasion of privacy! So now I am looking into a home security system too, I just want to feel SAFE!!

WARNING: LOOONG POST!!!

Ok obviously I am behind on things. We have been home for over a month now from our trip to England, and we went on a cruise! So, stages....1st up is the England trip!! Yeah! I had over 900 pictures, but a picture is worth 1000 words so I had to post quite a few!!

We arrived on a Sunday morning, not too jet-lagged because Bella slept most of the way so we got rest too. (thank you gravol.) On Monday my mom sent Mason and I on the train to London (we were staying 30 mins out of London in a town called Guildford) for the day and night. It was her Christmas present to us, and she watched Bella for us! So we got to do some serious sight seeing sans needy toddler, and it was amazing! We went to Madame Tussaud's wax museum, St. Paul's Cathedral, Tower of London, got to stay in a downtown London hotel and we saw Phantom!! It was truly an unbelievable experience, the theatre was fabulous and we felt like 2 little London-ers by the end of the next day!

At the top of St. Paul's....it was incredible, I wish I could've taken pictures inside, and then by the time we left it was seriously snowing and I couldn't take pictures of the outside!! We took like a 2 hour tour of it, and it was so informative and impressive, loved it.

At Her Majesty's Royal Theatre, to see Phantom! Absolutely incredible, best show of my life! Again, due to heavy wet snow I couldn't take pictures outside! So sad! And no pictures in the theatre, I took my camera out and then someone behind me was reprimanded for taking a photo...so I took one quick one of the stage and put it back!! :)

Christmas Eve we flew to one of the Canary Islands (off the coast off Spain, close to Morocco) called Lanzarote for 6 days. It was so much fun! Not too hot, and so not too crowded, we saw and did so much stuff! The beach was wonderful, Bella loved the ocean!

I could add a billion more pictures! But this post is long enough!! We had so much fun in Lanzarote, and when we arrived back in London town on New Year's Eve we still had a few more days left with my mom. We went into London a couple more times, shopped at Covenant Gardens (probably my most fave place in London, it is AMAZING...picture cobblestone streets, street performers, the Royal Opera House, and the neatest markets ever!), ate at fantastic restaurants (one of which was in an old theatre, with little box seats and everything and they had live performers in amongst the diners!), and of course did some damage at all the High Street shops!! We went to Hammleys (this HUGE toy store), Zara (3 floors of awesomeness baby!), Mango (kinda like Zara, 4 floors though!) and a few other fun stores. I love it, it was shopping heaven! We were sad to leave, but glad to come home after so long. Oh, yeah, coming home was quite the ordeal too....basically all of Britain shut down because of 2 inches of snow, so we got stuck sleeping in the airport one night! Bella was a trooper though, and my sweet hubs kept me happy with Starbucks peppermint hot chocolate so we got through it!! That about does it, thanks for reading this ridiculously long post! FOUND!!!

The earrings have been found! Just as I thought, I put them in a little ring box for "safe keeping"... and proceeded to leave them in England at my mom's!! I'm so so relieved, I seriously shed tears over this episode!

In other news....we are home from our cruise! I have so much to post about, not to even mention that I haven't really touched on our Christmas vacay yet! I promise I will soon....

BUT, first things first. I have just spent the past 20 minutes or so watching Oprah and crying. Nothing about this is very unusual (for me, anyways)....except for the fact that I was watching mothers and children dying and suffering in Haiti. I feel such overwhelming sorrow for the people dealing with this tragic disaster. I cannot wrap my head around it, how did we get to be so blessed? The people of Haiti have a long history of struggle, and now this on top of everything. It must feel like the end of the world to them. I wish I could help, but really really help. Like be there to calm down the child who has just lost his whole family, or the mother holding her dead infant. I cannot stop crying!!! It makes me feel so lucky, and I have to say a bit selfish too. I am however, very very greatful for what I have in this life. I am loved and I love, and I have all of my most basic needs and then some met. Please take a moment everyone and say a prayer for those in Haiti.

Heart broken....

I have an AMAZING husband. He never ceases to surprise me every Christmas and Birthday with some kind of thoughtful and heartfelt gift. This year was no exception....2 days before we left for England it was my birthday. And he gave me these....
....gorgeous diamond hoops. I LOVE them....and so I wore them over there. Everyone who really knows me know that I love to accessorize, and so about a week into our holiday I took out my precious new hoops and jazzed up a different outfit with some cute chandalier style earrings...then I kept changing my earrings all holiday long with different ones. Now I am home. I am unpacking. And....I can't find them. Anywhere. Are they lost in my mom's apartment? She checked and can't find them yet. Were they stolen by the house cleaning staff in Spain? I DON'T KNOW. How can I have ALL of my other jewellery and not these??? And I have A LOT of jewellery. So where did they go??? I'm so depressed, I can't even write about our trip yet! But I will. Later. When we get back from our next trip...Mexican cruise, we get home next Tuesday. Wish me luck finding them, I am DYING!!!!!!!!
